Plough Plane

Use:  For creating grooves in the wood.  Common practice is create grooves so that thin sheet material can be inserted into the groove.  Cupboard doors and the bottoms of boxes and so on can be made this way.

Wood Lathe

Use:  For turning wood to create handles, stairway banister spindles and decorative features.
